Why Evangelism Matters to Us
EVANGELISM is our communication of the Gospel. It is the message that we are all sinful and that Christ died for our sins, was buried, was raised to life again three days later, and was seen by many witnesses. Our hope in communicating the Gospel is that the hearer repents and believes.
As disciples devoted to obeying the command of Christ to make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:19), it is important to be equipped and prepared to give a reason for the hope that is in you. (1 Pet. 3:15) Understanding this central command of disciple making compels us to do all that we can to use the opportunity of normal, daily conversations to lead others to the Gospel. One of our core values at Heartland Church is to actively engage our community and share the Gospel of Christ. In doing this, we strive to fulfill our mission of Loving Jesus, Loving Each Other, and Loving Our World.
