Heartland Youth is a place for students in 6th–12th grade to grow in their relationship with Jesus, build lasting friendships, and find a community where they belong.
Middle School (6th–8th Grade): Sundays | 5p - 7p High School (9th–12th Grade): Sundays | 6:30p - 8:30p
Small Groups
Life is better when we're growing together! Small groups are a big part of Heartland Youth. Students are placed in groups based on age and gender, with dedicated leaders who invest in them each week.
These groups give students a place to build friendships, talk about real-life challenges, ask questions about faith, and encourage one another as they follow Jesus.
There's Always Something Happening!
Throughout the year, Heartland Youth hosts exciting events, retreats, camps, and activities that help students build friendships, make memories, and grow closer to Jesus.
And yes, we've got snacks! Pizza, candy, and drinks are available for purchase at our snack bar during Sunday night gatherings

Joel Beck
Student Pastor
Joel Beck serves as Heartland’s Youth Pastor, joining the team in June 2026. Raised on a farm in the plains of Kansas, Joel began serving as a youth leader at his home church at age 18. With a heart to become a pastor to this generation, he studied Pastoral Ministries at Pensacola Christian College and served as a student pastor in Milton, Florida, for seven years before coming to Heartland.
Joel’s passion is to help students take their next step in owning their faith. He loves equipping parents to disciple their children and training leaders and volunteers to encourage students and model authentic faith. His desire is to see this generation know Jesus and follow Him for themselves.
Joel and his wife, Ashtin, met in college and married in 2019. They love being parents to their adopted daughter and two sons. As a family, they enjoy outdoor adventures and mountain biking—or “trail riding,” since Florida is a little short on mountains!
His favorite passage is Hebrews 12:1–2, which shapes both his life and ministry: run free, run with endurance, and run focused on Jesus.
