Who We Are

Our Beliefs

At Heartland Church, our faith is grounded in the truth of God’s Word and centered on the hope of the Gospel. These core beliefs guide how we live, love, serve, and follow Jesus every day.

We believe the Scriptures are true, authoritative, and sufficient. The Bible is the inspired Word of God, without error in the original manuscripts, and is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
References: Psalm 19:7–11; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20–21
There is one true and living God, who exists eternally in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is fully and equally God, yet the Father is not the Son or the Spirit, the Son is not the Father or the Spirit, and the Spirit is not the Father or the Son.

All humanity, Christ alone excepted, is sinful by nature and by choice. We are alienated from God and under the just penalty of death—both physical and spiritual—because of our sin.

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He was born of a virgin, fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, died as our substitute to pay the penalty for our sins, and rose physically from the dead. He ascended into heaven and will return one day in glory.

Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. Only by trusting in His person and finished work can we be reconciled to God and experience true life and joy.
References: John 3:18; 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:21–26; 1 Timothy 2:5–6
There will be a future, bodily resurrection of the dead. Those who have trusted in Christ will be raised to eternal life and reward, while those who have not will be raised to eternal punishment.

Our Mission: Love Jesus, Love Each Other, Love Our World

We’ve elaborated below to explain just what this statement means for us.

Love Jesus

Because it is through Jesus that we are reconciled to God (the relationship with God and people is restored and made right).

Love Each Other

Because Jesus, who we love, commanded us to love one another. Through Jesus the relationship that was broken between people is also restored.

Love Our World

Because ultimately God is restoring the world through Jesus Christ.

Our Values

Our values reflect the kind of church we strive to be. They shape our culture, direct our decisions, and keep us focused on what matters most. These are the things we live by as we pursue Jesus, build community, and serve the world around us.

Missions

Missions describes our sending and going to all people. Missions is external to our church, but it is done by our church. We so desperately want the world to hear the good news of Jesus that we will support and participate in missions work locally, nationally, and internationally.

Evangelism

Evangelism is our communication of the gospel. It is the message that we are all sinful and that Christ died for our sins, was buried, was raised to life again three days later, and was seen by many witnesses. Our hope in communicating the gospel is that the hearer repents and believes.

Community

Community is this group of believers in Christ called Heartland Church. Our community is the participation and sharing of our lives with each other both inside and outside the walls of a building. In this community we love one another by caring for, encouraging, supporting, teaching and rebuking.

Discipleship

Discipleship is the intentional effort of learning and teaching others how to follow Christ. It includes learning both right doctrine and right practice. Jesus commanded all believers to make disciples. We know we have succeeded in discipleship when the learner becomes the teacher.

Doctrine

Doctrine governs our beliefs and actions. Namely, our doctrine is the inerrant, authoritative, and sufficient Scripture, the 66 books of the Old and New Testament that contain all things pertaining to life and godliness. From it we know Jesus. As a church we adhere to the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 as a right interpretation of Scripture in what it contains.

Service

Service is the action of our faith in Jesus. It comes from the joy that salvation brings. It is the willingness to give of one’s time, energy, and money to further God’s Kingdom through help in the mission of the church and to the world around us. All believers have been uniquely gifted by the Holy Spirit to serve.

Prayer

Prayer is communication from us to God. Through it we praise Him, confess sin, and make requests aligned with His will. Seeking God through prayer demonstrates trust in and reliance on Him. Everything we do, both as individuals and a church, is empowered by prayer. As a church, we make time for personal prayer and corporate prayer.

Worship

Worship is our response to God because of His infinite worth. We express it corporately and personally. Corporately, when we come together on Sunday to sing, hear the word preached, serve, and take part in the Lord’s Supper and Baptism. Personally, when we seek God through prayer, intaking His Word, and serving.

Excellence

Excellence is our commitment to do all things to the glory of God. We will seek His will as a church and follow His lead. We will invest the time to evaluate and improve all that we do as a church.

There’s a place for you at Heartland Church!

Come experience authentic worship, practical teaching, and a welcoming community. We’d love to see you this Sunday.
