You were made for more than just attending church—you were made to help build it.
At Heartland Church, small group leaders are the heartbeat of our community. If you have a desire to help others grow in their faith, find belonging, and live on mission, leading a group could be your next step.
What Do Group Leaders Do?
Group leaders are everyday people who create space for others to:
Fellowship — Build real, lasting relationships grounded in Christ.
Grow — Pursue spiritual maturity through Scripture, prayer, and accountability.
Serve — Meet needs within the group and in the wider community.
Multiply — Raise up future leaders and help others take steps of faith.
You don’t have to be a Bible scholar or have all the answers. You just need a heart for people and a willingness to be used by God.
Training & Support
We don’t expect you to do this alone! All group leaders go through a 5-week training offered twice a year, before our August and January group launches. During training, we’ll cover:
What a Healthy Group looks like
How to create a culture of Fellowship
Helping your group members grow in their relationship with God
Serving each other, the church, and the community
The importance of being a multiplying group
You’ll also receive ongoing support from our team and opportunities to grow alongside other leaders.
